VIKING TAFL GAMES is a multi-Tafl game board. You will be able to play the most popular Tafl games using just one game board. This boards handsome design begins with the most popular of all the Tafl games called Hnefatafl played on the largest 11 x 11 board. The Welsh version of Tawlbwrdd is played on the same board. On the 9 x 9 board you can play my favorite Tafl game called Tablut. On the smallest 7 x 7 section of the board is the Irish Brandubh, a version of Celtic Fidchell, and Scottish Ard Ri. All versions are clearly marked out on the playing field, with a legend of the starting positions included for each game in the rules booklet.

The rules for all Tafl games have many similarities, keeping the learning curve at a minimum. However, the subtle differences in board size, pieces count, and rule variant, makes each game a very unique experience.

1 two-sided cloth game board (choose variation for the backside board)
56 game pieces (American maple hard wood) enough to cover all the games

The craftsmanship is really good, and the idea of combining five different Tafl variants on a single board is simply brilliant — it makes the set incredibly versatile and perfect for anyone who loves exploring the rich tradition of these games. The added bonus of having a Merels (Nine Men’s Morris) board on the reverse side adds value.
