TABLUT Hnefatafl game and HALATAFL (Viking Fox and Geese)

Sorry, this item has sold.

HALATAFL and TABLUT Hnefatafl games on one board.
Halatafl (literally tail board, as in the foxes tail) is the Viking original version of the popular Fox and Geese game. Twenty geese challenge two foxes as they try to get from one side of the board to the other, while the two foxes try to eat all the geese before they do. Fun and challenging for the whole family.
Tablut is the tafl game that most all the other tafl variants derive their rules from. It is the game that Carl Linnaeus documented in the mid 1700's. It is played on a nine by nine board with nine defenders playing against sixteen attackers, and has much the same game play as Hnefatafl. I like to think of its play as if starting a Hnefatafl game midway through. It tends to be faster game play with all the challenges of Hnefatafl.

These games come with all the rules and pieces to play both game, sharing pieces between the two different games.

1 board with Halatafl and Tablut sides
2 king pieces (two foxes for Halatafl/one king for Tablut)
36 pawns (Twenty geese for Halatafl, twenty-four pawns for Tablut)
Pieces bag
Complete rules for both games

High quality and will be perfect for camping. I originally bought one as a gift for my kid, then bought another for a gift. I ended up finally playing Hnefatatl with the second person, liked it so much I bought a set for myself. It's like Othello meets chess, and is very enjoyable.

An enjoyable game and a merchant that shipped fast and provided a quality product.

I gave this as a gift, and the recipient was very pleased with how unique it is! The board looks great, and my order shipped quickly. Thank you!

I bought this as a Christmas present for my son. I believe he’s going to love them. This was an entirely positive experience.

Nicely made and fast shipping.
