This made a great birthday gift for a friend. Even though this is the smaller sized option, it's still big enough to play on comfortably (scroll down to the photo that another purchaser posted). This version also lacks certain symbols that have been coopted by groups other than viking history afficionados, which unfortunately could be misconstrued depending on who passes by. Therefore this version made for a safer gift. Also, the quality is as good as the other reviews say. This is a well-made product. Don't let the fact that the board rolls up deter you. In addition to being a space saver, it also makes it more fun, by giving the appearance of an ancient scroll. Thums up!

This game is suprising. It looks simple. But it isn't. I bought this as a surprise Christmas gift for my board game enthusiast husband. He always has a carefully selected Amazon list of board games he wants. This year, I suprised him with something he didn't know even existed, something ancient. It was the first game he wanted to play. The way the pieces move was new to us both. I lost. But we both want to play again.
